Due to the current Covid-19 crisis, everyone must work and learn remotely, and socialization is more difficult and even impossible at times. Being isolated from others is a challenge for children, teenagers, and adults. As a high schooler who has been affected by Covid-19, I understand the feeling of missing friends and not being able to physically be in school with them every day. Although our counselors and teachers told us it was okay to have these feelings, admitting that we felt alone can seem unacceptable. Nobody wants to stand out. The reason for this is because of the stigma surrounding mental health.
What is the stigma? The mental health stigma is prejudice towards those who struggle with mental health illnesses such as depression, anxiety, OCD… etc.
